More quotes we get from Shakespeare: "A Method To His Madness"

Act II Scene II:
"Though this be madness, yet there is method in't."
This quote was significant to me because it is one of the MANY phrases from Shakespeare we use still today, I think this quote is important in defining who Hamlet is and how smart he is in his plan to get revenge on Claudius. Polonius speaks this quote thinking Hamlet is crazy because of his love for Ophellia, so his love and desire for her was the "method" behind his "madness." Ironically, Hamlet is just acting, the "method" crazy, the "madness," to fly under the radar and seem like he isnt a threat to Claudius. He is doing this because crazy people dont really get suspected for things and people ignore them and dont think of them as a threat. I think it is a smart plan and that in this quote, Polonius defines Hamlet without even truly knowing what he is talking about.

Also in this scene......
I think Polonius thinks he's a little smarter than he actually is. Hamlet talks to Guildenstern and Rosencratz about how Polonius is "A great baby" "Not yet out of his swaddling clouts" and they agree that "an old man is twice a child." Although he is a high ranking official in the king's court, Hamlet and his friends do not respect him or take what he has to say seriously. I think Polonius underestimates Hamlet.
(In the Lion King, Zazu represents Polonius.. just saying... INTERTEXTUALITY/ALLUSIONS/CONNECTIONS!! :)
